It's late, but you've inspired me to respond to some of it.
I thought the golf course was a nice touch. I love Hurley. And the way Charlie tried to teach him how to play golf. Oh, sweet sweet slash. How I'll love you yet likely avoid you when you appear on my flist because I've been turned off Charlie/Hurley slash, despite their fun-ness.
Yes. Ditto. I *heart* Hurley and Charley, but slash? No way! Loved the golf course, not the least because finally something wasn't freakin' Jack's idea!
But, of course, I got whomped with something much sweeter and heart wrenching all at once.
Exactly! It was very angsty and touching. I really got a lump in my throat. It did what a back-story ought to do: made us understand him a little better and showed us another side to him.
Agree with you about the "child." I thought it was very odd that she called Alex her "child." I have kids and I refer to them as "my son" or "my daughter." Of cousre, she is the craaaazy!french lady (lol) so who knows what she was talking about? Maybe the shriveled up corpses in the cave. *shudder*
Oh, and I also loved what little we saw of Sawyer. I'm glad he joined in at the end. When Jack was about to swing the golfclub, I was dreading it because I thought for sure it'd be a hole in one. More Mr. Perfect. When Sawyer turned up - what a pleasant surprise!
The "they were already lost," line really stood out to me. The whole time I thought that the title to the show and the whole concept was that they were in this island and no one was going to find them so now they're lost but now there's something more to it, imo. I can't and probably won't flesh it out more but that line really rang some bells in my head. Or maybe those are the ones I'm wearing. Whatever.
Oh, yeah! I had the exact same feeling. "Lost" took on a whole new meaning, didn't it? Very intriguing. If you're nuts, then so am I. ;-)
