[livejournal.com profile] krisgoespop, anyone? :(

I'm frustrated by people thinking that just because shit is on the internet it should be shared. If someone posts pictures or anything private to a PRIVATE SPACE that should be respected. I know, I know. Naive, right? But I can't help but hold out hope that maybe, someday someone will actually think about that before they take something personal and private and splash it all over the internet for people to see. Whether it's one person or five hundred people, it sucks and it's an invasion of privacy and it's wrong.

Jensen was literally jumped at last year's Asylum con, which none of us can possibly understand but I'm sure left him more than shaken. But that's something that was probably foreseen by someone at some point, hence security, right? How do you think Jared or Jensen or ANYONE would feel if they found out that the stuff they put on the internet was stolen and seen by people who weren't meant to? That's something they (and their friends) obviously don't think about and they shouldn't have to!

I can't imagine, if they did find out, that they'd think, "oh, it's the internet, I'd better not put anything THERE again. I should have known better." I think they'd probably be more in the frame of mind to think, "What the fuck did I get myself into that I can't even have ONE FUCKING SPOT on the internet that's mine to share with people I care about? These fans are deranged."

The idea of them finding out they have no privacy ANYWHERE makes me upset because they wouldn't know if they could trust any of their fans at all.
