(c)rambling. My favorite part of this episode would have to be with the knife thing. At first I thought she was just showing off and being pesky, until I found out the knife was her father's. I also like the part where they were talking about the first thing that popped into their heads about their fathers. It shows they have a connection with hunts. Romance is obviously a burnout and hopefully it won't lead up to that.
As far as kick-ass girl. I TOTALLY agree with you. I was thinking they should have another "chosen one", since it would make good plot and could easily be cast as a character. It could be a girl who also deals with hunts and her parents are also dead(since all Chosen Ones parents seemed to have been killed by the demon, or in the last case, the demon had told them to kill their parents). I would like to see a more tomboy type of character. So, she could easily hang out with the boys without acting desperate and flirty like Jo does. I think if romance did start it could actually go both ways. Her rebellion and kick ass attitude and skills in hunting could make Dean attracted to her. Or the fact that she is a Chosen One and her parents died could help her connect to Sam a bit.
I really loved Meg. I know some people may have despised her because she was the daughter of the demon. But she had attitude and even (false) connection with Sam.
As for the part when Dean told Jo about if he had a chance to be something and all that junk. I'm going to with that he was being serious. Because in earlier episodes he talked about how his dad took him out on hunts when he was still just a kid. And how he grew up faster because of it. I think he truly did want a different life for himself. But his caught up in it and not that his dad died he feels closer to him by finishing the job. It's the only thing he knows now since his been doing it for so long. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. But I also think he was trying to persuade Jo not to get into the hunter deal. She's young and he remembers how young he was when he got into hunting. She should be worrying about her hair and hanging with friends. Just normal stuff young girls do.
