YES! Jason had to go. I do not know what bothered me more his silly hats or his offensive and dismissive comments. I really thought they might keep him around for "drama," so I was surprised and elated when he was sent home. My mouth was on the floor when he sent his model to be photographed with a safety pin and hole in her dress. He should have just called a cab and said goodbye right then and there.
I also agree it was sad to see Nicholas go. I know we have seen designers cry once they are let go, but his tears seemed to be coming from a different place. I get the sense he is a very fragile person. While his design did not wow me, I also did not think it was a reason to send him home.
Do not get me started on Casanova. His antics are very transparent. He is trying to use whomever he can to make his outfits work. I wonder how long it will take for his act to be found out.
Mondo is another designer who I think is very talented but extremely fragile. I get the sense he has had a very tough life and is very insular. I hope you are right that he makes some friends and connections on the show.
I do have one observation about this season. Tim Gunn also eluded to it during a recent interview. Many of the designers seem to be "fragile" and a bit emotional. I think a few, yes Jason I am pointing at you, have some pretty obvious personality disorders. I know they say that with genius comes a touch of madness. Each season there are one or two designers, now I am pointing at you Kenley, who scare the fabric out of me. It will be very interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.
Thanks for posting your comments and review. I have wanted to share/vent my feelings since Thursday night.
