I saw Step Up 2: The Streets tonight. I liked it better than the first one, I think. Neither of them are Oscar-worthy, sure, but it was fun, funny and the exposition didn't hit the audience TOO hard over the head. We went in with lower expectations, though, so that helped. It was just a fun movie to see! Like Bring it On or She's the Man!

It all depends on how he's written, of course, but from these photos I think I'm okay with Robert Pattison playing Edward. At least he'll be pretty to look at. I found him mildly attractive in HP but he never revved my engine. In these, however, I'd hit that. Yeah. Although not in the last one. In that one he looks kind of like he's three seconds away from his eyes rolling back in his head so he can have a seizure.
But what the HELL is up with the two blondes? First off- the female blonde is Nikki Reed. Yes, THAT Nikki Reed. She of Thirteen and the screener pilot of Reaper. It looks nothing like her and that looks like a fucking BAD wig. Second, WTF WIGS?! What the hell DIED on Jasper's head? He looks like a character from Children of the Damned or something.
I think the only people who are going to like this movie will be hardcore fangirls. The ones that aren't currently ripping it apart as I type because HOMG photos. I don't think they're necessarily BAD but they DO make me giggle. I'm so conflicted.
Woo, second episode of Skins! Maybe I will be capping this every week.
Was anyone else really creeped out by this episode? It had funny moments and all but holy crap, CUH-RAZEEE! I'm also not sure what to think of having two Maxxie episodes in a row. It's nice, don't get me wrong, cause he's adorable and hot and it's nice to see him being utilised this season after being so under-used last season but still.
Truth be told, though, he IS one of the more interesting characters for me, especially right now. I'm interested to see Jal's development this season but generally she kinda bores me. Same with Chris. I have a soft spot in my heart for Michelle even though not that much happens with her, too.
I like this show WAY better than Friday Night Lights, but that isn't a hard thing to accomplish, really. I don't find either of them especially true to a typical teenager's experience but at least with Skins there's some true freaking dysfunation happening. This episode isn't the best example of that, though, because, again, HELLO CUH-RAZEEE! I don't know if I can properly explain it.
I don't really have much to say about the episode, I don't think. It really weirded me out. That girl was just SO FREAKING OBSESSED. I thought when she put on the black dress at the end she was going to take all of her mom's pills or something to kill herself. But clearly she's got something more planned with Anwar to get to Maxxie. HI UNSTABLE.
Not overly excited for next week, from the promo, but at least we'll finally get to find out where Sid's head is at right now. And maybe get an update on Cassie, too. That would be nice.
I made the caps a little smaller this week and they came out pretty clear. This show needs to be in HD ASAP!

I was chatting withspuzz as I watched the ep, about things NOT related to the ep, as she hadn't seen it and saw this particular part of the scene. I interrupted our convo to ask if she was cool with spoilery non-spoilers for the ep and then proceded to fangirl about his bum. A nice bum, he has.
And then about how he sleeps naked. There was much capslocking.
Gotta love stage makeup.
And then there was explanation of suspender wearing.
The actress who plays Michelle is really pretty. She's also got hella long eyelashes.
The stage makeup and the rubbledust made CUH-RAZEEEcakes look like a clown. A poor one.

Date: 2008-02-19 09:22 am (UTC)It's basically the same plot as the first one- outsider who dances gets into hoity toity dance school, turns it on its ear and finds love in the process. The dancing is different in this one, though, and it's a different sort of showdown at the end, but you just take the elements out of the general plot and insert others. Still fun.
