Vancon mini-picspam!
Sep. 2nd, 2009 11:30 pmI've finally recovered my photos. I tried, to no avail, to get the damn camera to work with my desktop but it just refused. Same with the laptop. But when I took it downstairs it worked easy as pie on my aunt's desktop. So it's my computer(s). Whatever. LUCKILY my laptop has an SD card reader.
So I put them on my laptop and then tried to establish a network between my two computers. Ten minutes later I gave up and connected my desktop external hard drive to the laptop and just transferred them over. So much effort.
I wasn't able to properly go through the photos yet, either. I'm missing Jake and Aldis and the Ghostfacers so that's something to do tomorrow or this weekend.
These photos aren't as nice as other people's. One, we were sitting about three inches from the general admission and, in fact, on Sunday there were general admission people sitting ahead of us. Not a fan of that, let me tell you what.
Two, the camera was fairly shaky because I was free handing. My kingdom for a tripod, only not really because it'll be awhile before I use the camera for this sort of purpose again.
Three, I don't really know how to work my camera. I bought it on Wednesday before we left. So the settings, the ideal lighting, the way to hold it, etc, etc--ALL LOST ON ME. I was flipping the dial and trying all sorts of shit through the panels so there's not a lot of consistency in size or anything. Add in the less than considerate lighting at a con and people's heads in the way and you've got a party in your pictures!
I have a rapid fire function and that's how I took most of the photos. I would take however many photos, then Twitter while the camera stored them, then I was ready to go again by the end of the Twitter. It was a frantic but good system I had going.
So here are a few of the photos I took. They're thumb nailed (big and poorly because I'm lazy and tired) and tagged. Click for bigger, obvs.
Please do not remove the tag & credit if you're using them for anything (and please feel free to!).
