Jesus Christ. I just finished watching Blood & Chocolate.

OH MY GOD.

THEY RUINED THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. Words cannot describe how absolutely FUCKED UP that was. I read the book ages ago. Like- 12 years ago, maybe? I don't remember now. I LOVE THAT BOOK. LOVE IT. I didn't bring my copy when I moved so I've been meaning to buy a new one and now I'm not so sure I want to just because I'm so absolutely disgusted with the way the film makers ruined the whole thing. Except for the fact that the characters in the movie had the same as the ones in the book and they were werewolves- NOTHING WAS THE SAME.

I haven't been this angry over a movie since... First Daughter, probably. I mean, I didn't like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because it's my favourite book out of the series and they basically raped the plot for the movie, it was very boring with the way it was shot and the look and just- everything. I still have it on dvd, though, and I can appreciate what the writers had to do to cut it down and stuff, so it's cool. But for this? For Blood & Chocolate? I'm seriously SEETHING.

In other news, I finished the first series of Skins. By the end of it Sid was one of my favourite characters (once he finally started stepping up to people), Tony was kind of 'meh' but I appreciated him more after the Effy incident, I like Michelle, Angie's kind of grating and as a result I don't really like Chris all that much and Cassie's fun. I'm not all over Cassie but she's okay. I like the way she dresses. Everyone else is just kind of there. Now I can go peeking into communities and entires other people have made on it without their opinions changing mine as I'm watching. It's a fun show.

Now, where's the best place to get caps? *eyes [livejournal.com profile] turnyourankle*

For the 98.5% of SPN fandom that's sane? *chucks you on the chin gently* For the other 1.5%? *beats you down like the red-headed step-children you are* Unfortunately, a little crazy goes a long way.

I know I have comments to attend to and people to friend back and everything and I'm going to focus on that soon. I hope. I tentatively promise. I suck. :|

To the person who gave me the red rose along with everyone else who's so awesome in fandom- thank you. You pretty much made my day. *smooshes you*

when i'd heard they were going into production for blood & chocolate, i was wary. i'm the farthest thing from a book-to-movie purist (it's not the same medium, allocations must be made, etc, etc), but i was wary about this one, because casting hugh dancy (as much as i love him) seemed like the wrong move, seemed like they were making the characters older than they should be. but i let it go and hoped for the best.

then i saw the trailer and swore for about an hour. i mean.. what?!?

It was SO BAD. Words can't describe. When I saw the trailer I thought it would be bad but seriously? THEY CHANGED EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. They threw random quotes from the book in there for shits and giggles but it just... I kind of want to cry.

it would've been SUCH a good movie as-is! a good whedon-esque coming-of-age kinda-funny movie. instead they had to go for the loser-gothic-whatever that barely worked for "underworld".

Hugh Dancy was TERRIBLE in it. I'd highly recommend the book. It's classified as a young adult book but it's SO good, very intriguing. It's by Annette Curtis Klause.

The worst part is that they changed everything to make a really bad movie :/

I got all my caps from [livejournal.com profile] ledballoon, mitchhewer.co.uk, nicholas-hoult.net :) and krissie posted some awesome caps of the finale.

I've read Blood and Chocolate but must confess to never seeing the movie. Now, I'm not so sure I want to :|

However, in regards to Skins, Sid is FTW seriously. I love him so much but escpecially with the whole Tony thing and just, yay!

The Effy incident was Tony's only redeeming feature and Michelle is awesome :) I do like the gay guy, can't remember his name right now, but I kinda liked him.

I'm interested to see where they take it, though.

You SERIOUSLY don't want to see the movie. It made me really, really angry. I can't understand why they'd change SO MUCH (read: EVERYTHING) from the book. It makes no sense. It was also very poorly done. It wouldn't even be a good movie NOT based on a book.

I'm really interested to see where they take Skins as well. I'm not sure how I feel about how everything ended and I haven't gone in search of comms or anything to get a fannish consensus on everything but I'm eager to find out how everything is resolved.

Skins most definetly is a fun show. I think that I got more respect for Sid as well as the episodes progressed, so I can totally relate to that. I must say I love Maxxie and Jal too though. And good thing to not read communities and entries to make them change your mind. I don't really like it when that happens either.

I got most of my caps from where [livejournal.com profile] turnyourankle refered too. Also, in the memories at [livejournal.com profile] dj_capslock has a few in the memories, though most are by [livejournal.com profile] ledballoon.

Pft. Blood and Chocolate- don't even get me started. *rolls eyes* My cousin and I watched it together (we had both read the book) and kept WTF-ing every five minutes. Oy. Seriously, there was absolutely NO connection to the book, other than the same names, and the fact that Vivian falls in love with a 'meat-boy'.

I didn't want to watch Blood and Chocolate because I knew it probably ruined the book.
