Slight episode spoiler for an upcoming episode (not sure which one as I DON'T SPOIL MYSELF FOR THAT) at supernatu_icons. It's not huge but it's a title/character spoiler and it's more than I knew/wanted to know. Also at another comm that I can't say for spoiler reasons. Just... watch yourself, I guess. :( :( :(

Also. I just read that the next new episode isn't until January THIRTY-FIRST?! Oh, lord. I'm renting a bus and putting together a group rate for a trip to a cave somewhere isolated. We're going to be like those Kid Nation kids and make our own civilisation and have lots of smores. Anyone want to join lostt1, gwentastic and myself on such a venture?

I'm exhausted. I went on a total cleaning frenzy today. I think I might have shocked the shit out of my mom. Tomorrow, possible bathroom painting, tree decoration and settling in for a pre-Christmas storm.

No, there are no icons from this past week that I can see. It's a multi-fandom post with heroes icons as well. The episode title and an icon made of a still from a future episode are there, spoiling the charcter as well.

UGH, I hate seeing people spoiled! D: Ironically, the title of that particular episode has been changed, but. Eef. That was a huge spoiler! Don't people think?

And, yes, January 31st looks like the next airdate - it's the first Thursday of sweeps, and that's when Smallville comes back, so that's when we'll probably come back. Could be sooner or later, but will most likely be that day. *rests chin in hands*

The mod of a comm, myself and someone else have all replied to the icon-spoilery person's comm posts but she has yet to respond/change her post. PEOPLE, OY.

Ye gods, that is the exact reason I don't get into the fandom - in Australia we're even further behind (and now it's just been taken off until the new year completely, since we were a week and a half behind and they never have regular programming Christmas Eve), and spoilers are becoming so pervasive that they're unavoidable.

So that's why nobody knows me, and how I completely feel your pain even though I didn't go look.

If the cave has broadband, I'm there. Actually, there's lots of caves back home that are pretty awesome, and if isolated = rural Australia, you can take your pick.

Most of the time people are really good with not posting spoilers and trying to be aware of those who want to remain spoiler-free. I don't get spoiled very often, even when I code for the newsletter. This person doesn't seem to really be in fandom, which could be the problem, actually. If you aren't around people who are wickedly anti-spoiler or don't hang around the comms, how do you know how/why it's so taboo to use those images/speak of them?

Although, on the other hand, a lot of it is ignorance, too. :(

I don't know if we can get the bus across the ocean to Australia. :(

The thing is, this person would have had to have to obtained the spoilers knowing that they were spoilers from a warning or from a source, and would know that it was a spoiler. Courtesy would demand repeating the warning if taking the material, and the spoiler thing is something that is fairly commonly known, even to people outside fandom.

That pesky ocean gets in the way of lots of things. If you all got together and hired a boat, you could probably make it out here by the time we get 3x08. ;)

BLERGH, I HATE THAT SO MUCH. And I swear people are getting more lax with their spoilers, too. Especially when it comes to promo images used for icons. I know people get oh so excited about what they have to say, but spoiling others won't entice them to read your witty remarks or fawn over your ~*~art~*~. It will JUST piss them off.

So, yeah, thanks for the warning.

I think this case was just one of someone not really understanding the concept of a "spoiler" image OR thinking it wouldn't be that bad because it's just a promo. As an image it wasn't that spoilery but it was everything else with it, that it was an upcoming episode, etc, etc. That made it that way. Some people just don't think, I guess. Stupid non-thinkers. :(
