fun_like_thatPlease don't make any allusion to the book(s) or any future spoilers for the show, even to say I'd like a character better because of x or that I'll have to wait and see about x. When it references something I've talked about I can easily put 2+2 together and figure out what's going to happen. With only 5 episodes left in the season I'd prefer to not anticipate anything. Thanks.
This is the first time that I can remember that I've been this impressed with two episodes in a row. This episode was a bit schizophrenic with the characters and their reactions and whatnot, but for the most part I enjoyed myself. It was another episode that, when the end came, I actually exclaimed, "No!", because I wanted it to keep going.
I heard someone in a TB comm mention the "graveyard scene" but only that so I knew I was in for something. I certainly didn't expect Bill to come crawling up out of the ground, all dirty, and looking like a hairy monkey. And then when he and Sookie... well. I just... dirty!sex was dirty sex. It's bad enough getting sand in your bathing suit. :|
One thing I can't help but think about when I see these scenes between Sookie and Bill is that Anna and ... er, whasshisface are dating in RL. Um... are we seeing what happens off set?
I can't even.
The colours in this episode were insane. It was SUCH a pretty, bright episode. Loved that aspect of it.
One of the major drawbacks was, of course, the addition of Jason. At this point any time he's on screen and talking it feels like a waste of time. His new chick was obviously bad from the beginning at at one point of the episode all I could see was a less cracked out Amy Winehouse in her. Or more, given that she's jonesing for V. Who knows?
He's just so clueless and so willing to go along with the most stupid, irritating, harebrained scheme for what? Non-existant pussy? And I feel so bad for that vamp. He was so quiet and clueless. Yeah, he could rip my throat out in a split second but he likes TV! And the actor was in Office Space! And he's so smitten with Lafayette. "You said Merlot gets you hot." "I said I work at Merlottes." I laughed, trufax.
Yeah, so that new chick is wicked bad news (obvs) and Jason is a damn fool. I don't know if it's the worst thing he's ever-- no, never mind. It is. I thought it through again and yeah, it's stupid. Jason's stupid. And he's not even that hot anymore, probably because I see him as being so dumb.
Tara's situation at the moment is a little hazy to me. Her mom's sober (in a loose term, in my mind) but she's not happy about it. The only thing I can think is that the turning point came when her mom showed up with her churchin' friend and they started to get on her case. And then when she blew up at Sam (over nothing, imo) she kind of figured that the voo doo lady must be right. That was the only thing I could think of, which is basically what last week set up.
I'm expecting Arlene to either be the next dead person or the next attacked by the vampire honey killer. I think that her dislike of Bill and then spending time with him the night she got engaged will set someone off. And I'm leaning more and more toward it being Terry who is the killer. PLEASE DON'T SAY ANYTHING IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S COMING.
As far as Eric showing up goes, I had some trouble hearing certain things in the episode so I think I missed some lines here and there that could have helped me understand exactly what was going on, but I got the gist. I still don't get the Eric love but I did see that the actor who plays him was very attractive in his black shirt last night. That's really all I have to say about that.
Looking forward to next week's episode for sure.

Date: 2008-10-28 01:56 pm (UTC)I think it's interesting that in the first and second episodes, Bill asks Sookie twice (or 3 times?) "What ARE you?" When she asks if her blood tastes different, he says "Yes," in the low sexy vamp voice.
Then in this ep. while they're in bed after dirty!sex, he says she doesn't know how different she is. (Aside: I love how he strokes her hair.)
And manic pixie dream girl/psycho-drainer Amy tells Jason he's different, and the V experience was different with him. For once, I don't think she's full of it. The V brings out something in Jason that's buried.
Big bonus points for Eric in Bill's bathtub.

I keep thinking Sam is involved but if so they are making it too obvious. Then I go back and forth whether there are two killers and not just one. The first two girls were strangled, weren't they? Whereas Grandma was -- stabbed? -- and bled to death. I dunno.
And, yeah, I don't get the Ericmania yet either but I guess we'll be getting to that soon.
