Icons and fic stuff

spn_j2_bigbang today, like just about everyone else on my flist. I don't know yet if I'll have a filter. I want to talk more about writing in general to see if it will inspire me to keep on the fics that I start and remain motivated. How do all of you stay motivated for the fics that you get ideas for? I seriously have a plot bunnies document with over 50 ideas, some fleshed out with paragraphs and everything, and doesn't include what I've jotted down in my notebook or that I have due for various fic assignments. 
Do you get other people to hound you or work at your own pace?
I also have other questions about RPF fics. I was having an issue with myabouttwoboys fic, in the planning stages. I kind of fixed it last night by reversing who would be which character from the movie but at the same time there are still a lot of secondary characters I have to fill. I have Jared and Jensen, Chad, Chris and Steve, probably Sandy and Daneel in there because I feel I can legitimately include them without it seeming too far-fetched. But to extend to Tom, Mike, the rest of the cast of OTH and SV, Wentworth Miller, etc, etc... it feels too forced and weird to me in a lot of instances (sometimes people can make it work but it's rare for me).
Where do you draw the line with including various other actors who may or may not have a close or distant connection to Jared/Jensen/actor of choice?
Also, including family members of the people in an RPF fic (Jared and Jensen's families). I've included Jared's family in last year's Big Bang but I think Megan was the only one I actually named. In my head his parents were totally faceless, anonymous people. I'm not sure where that falls on the spectrum of going too far.
See, I have this idea that I've wanted to write for awhile where Megan is involved, with the end result being a Jared/Jensen fic. She's a key character but there wouldn't be anything sexual with her or anything. I still feel a little weird about it, though.
Basically this all comes down to how I proceed with the fic assignments I have coming up, my BB and how I tackle my plot bunnies folder, if I can ever get to the ideas I have in there without something else popping up first. I have a few ideas I could use that are pre-existing for my BB but I'm unsure of whether to use one of those or to come up with something new. I have one idea that I could re-work and use easily, I think, but I've been thinking about doing an SPN fic, instead of RPF this year. Maybe something involving Ruby since I love, love, love her. HOW TO DECIDE?! Maybe I SHOULD have a filter, oy.
Either way, I'd love to hear what people have to say about the things I've talked about here. I'd like to know what other people think about these things that I've been struggling with!
